Joep Grotendorst

Joep Grotendorst, de saxofonist van vanavond, volgt een beroepsopleiding aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Ook heeft hij de vooropleiding van het Junior Jazz College afgerond. Daarnaast maakt Joep deel uit van het Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest.

Joep Grotendorst is een veelbelovend jong talent in de Nederlandse jazzscene, met sterke klassieke en hardbop-invloeden. Hij is al erkend in nationale competities en wordt gezien als een belangrijk opkomend talent.

Joep Grotendorst, tonight’s saxophonist, is pursuing professional training at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He has also completed the preparatory course at the Junior Jazz College. In addition, Joep is a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Joep Grotendorst is a promising young talent on the Dutch jazz scene, with strong classical and hard bop influences. He has already made a name for himself in national competitions and is considered an important up-and-coming talent.

Agus Fulka

Agus Fulka, de gitarist van vanavond, heeft gestudeerd aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Naast gitarist is Agus ook componist en interdisciplinair artiest. Zijn werk beweegt tussen flamenco, jazz en live elektronica. Hij maakt gebruik van improvisatie en legt de nadruk op gemeenschap en transcultureel verhalen vertellen.

Agus Fulka leidt onder andere het project FEVER, een live techno-collectief. FEVER combineert elektronische muziek met jazzimprovisatie en live performance. Binnen FEVER werkt hij met een kerntrio en wisselende samenwerkers, waardoor elke show uniek is.

Agus Fulka, tonight’s guitarist, studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In addition to being a guitarist, Agus is also a composer and interdisciplinary artist. His work moves between flamenco, jazz and live electronics. He uses improvisation and emphasises community and transcultural storytelling.

Agus Fulka leads, among other things, the project FEVER, a live techno collective. FEVER combines electronic music with jazz improvisation and live performance. Within FEVER, he works with a core trio and varying collaborators, making each show unique.

Dave Guerreiro

Dave Guerreiro is een Galicische contrabassist en componist, gevestigd in Amsterdam. Met zijn lyrische spel en eigen composities beweegt hij tussen moderne jazz, wereldmuziek en subtiele elektronische invloeden. Hij leidt zijn eigen project David Guerreiro SL en is actief binnen de jonge Nederlandse jazzscene, waar hij bekendstaat om zijn warme sound, verfijnde timing en emotionele benadering van muziek.

Dave Guerreiro is a Galician double bass player and composer based in Amsterdam. With his lyrical playing and original compositions, he moves between modern jazz, world music and subtle electronic influences. He leads his own project, David Guerreiro SL, and is active in the young Dutch jazz scene, where he is known for his warm sound, refined timing and emotional approach to music.

Felix Schlarmann

Een drummer die actief bezig is in een breed scala aan muzikale settings, ook treedt hij op met gerenommeerde ensembles in de Nederlandse en Europese jazzscene. Vroeg in zijn carrière maakte hij zijn opnamedebuut als bandleider en componist bij Challenge Records met zijn goed ontvangen album Counterlife. Felix is onderdeel van de jazzfaculteit aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, waar hij lesgeeft in drums en jazzensemble. Daarnaast is hij betrokken bij onderzoek naar creatieve processen en nieuwe leerconcepten.

A drummer actively engaged in a wide range of musical settings, he also performs with renowned ensembles in the Dutch and European jazz scene. Early in his career, he made his recording debut as a bandleader and composer on Challenge Records with his well-received album Counterlife. Felix is part of the jazz faculty at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he teaches drums and jazz ensemble. In addition, he is involved in research on creative processes and new learning concepts.
