Carolina Gemmel

Een veelzijdige en expressieve jazz-zangeres actief in de Amsterdamse jazz- en soulscene, bekend om haar authentieke en emotioneel geladen stem. Ze werkt regelmatig samen met musici zoals pianist Evan van der Feen, met wie ze zowel originele nummers als jazzstandards vertolkt in een intieme en improvisatiegerichte setting. Hun optredens worden gekenmerkt door een speels gevoel, diepe muzikaliteit en een warme, persoonlijke sfeer. Carolina treedt op bij diverse jazzconcerten en festivals in Nederland en draagt bij aan het levendige lokale jazzleven.

A versatile and expressive jazz singer active in the Amsterdam jazz and soul scene, known for her authentic and emotionally charged voice. She regularly collaborates with musicians such as pianist Evan van der Feen, with whom she performs both original songs and jazz standards in an intimate and improvisational setting. Their performances are characterised by a playful feel, deep musicality and a warm, personal atmosphere. Carolina performs at various jazz concerts and festivals in the Netherlands and contributes to the lively local jazz scene.

Reinier Baas

Een Nederlandse jazzgitarist, componist en bandleider met een eigenzinnige, dynamische stijl die jazz verbindt met invloeden uit rock, moderne klassieke muziek en impro-experimenten. Hij heeft meer dan tien albums als leider uitgebracht, waaronder meerdere die bekroond zijn met de prestigieuze Edison-award. Baas staat bekend om zijn onvoorspelbare maar toch coherente composities en zijn vermogen om met uiteenlopende ensembles te spelen, van intieme duo’s tot orkestrale samenwerkingen. Hij werkt regelmatig samen met saxofonist Ben van Gelder en is betrokken bij groepen als Deadeye en Bughouse, terwijl hij ook componeert voor grote orkesten zoals het Metropole Orkest. Naast zijn podiumwerk is hij artistiek leider en dirigent van het Nederlands Jeugd Jazz Orkest 2025-’26 en docent aan verschillende conservatoria.

A Dutch jazz guitarist, composer and bandleader with a distinctive, dynamic style that combines jazz with influences from rock, modern classical music and improvisational experiments. He has released more than ten albums as a bandleader, including several that have been honoured with the prestigious Edison Award. Baas is known for his unpredictable yet coherent compositions and his ability to play with a wide range of ensembles, from intimate duos to orchestral collaborations. He regularly collaborates with saxophonist Ben van Gelder and is involved in groups such as Deadeye and Bughouse, while also composing for large orchestras such as the Metropole Orchestra. In addition to his stage work, he is artistic director and conductor of the Netherlands Youth Jazz Orchestra 2025-26 and teaches at various conservatories.

Ton Felices

Een veelbelovend contrabassist, componist en improvisator uit de Europese jazz- en impro-scene. Met een krachtige lyrische stijl en virtuoze controle over zijn instrument beweegt hij moeiteloos tussen jazz, elektronische invloeden en hedendaagse soundscapes, wat zijn muziek een frisse, futuristische energie geeft. Hij studeerde in Amsterdam en treedt internationaal op, van het BIMHUIS tot het North Sea Jazz Festival en de Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, vaak met zijn eigen ensembles zoals het Ton Felices Quartet of Electric Quartet. Felices heeft diverse prijzen gewonnen en werkt met toonaangevende artiesten in de jazzwereld, waarbij hij zowel originele composities als vernieuwende improvisaties presenteert.

A promising double bass player, composer and improviser from the European jazz and improv scene. With a powerful lyrical style and virtuoso control of his instrument, he moves effortlessly between jazz, electronic influences and contemporary soundscapes, giving his music a fresh, futuristic energy. He studied in Amsterdam and performs internationally, from the BIMHUIS to the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, often with his own ensembles such as the Ton Felices Quartet or Electric Quartet. Felices has won several awards and works with leading artists in the jazz world, presenting both original compositions and innovative improvisations.

Felix Schlarmann

Een drummer die actief bezig is in een breed scala aan muzikale settings, ook treedt hij op met gerenommeerde ensembles in de Nederlandse en Europese jazzscene. Vroeg in zijn carrière maakte hij zijn opnamedebuut als bandleider en componist bij Challenge Records met zijn goed ontvangen album Counterlife. Felix is onderdeel van de jazzfaculteit aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, waar hij lesgeeft in drums en jazzensemble. Daarnaast is hij betrokken bij onderzoek naar creatieve processen en nieuwe leerconcepten.

A drummer actively engaged in a wide range of musical settings, he also performs with renowned ensembles in the Dutch and European jazz scene. Early in his career, he made his recording debut as a bandleader and composer on Challenge Records with his well-received album Counterlife. Felix is part of the jazz faculty at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he teaches drums and jazz ensemble. In addition, he is involved in research on creative processes and new learning concepts.
