Isaac Roux
Isaac Roux is Louis De Roo’s musical project, in which he blends dreamy indie folk with subtle electronica. De Roo writes songs about the moment when youth slowly gives way to something that begins to resemble adulthood. Nostalgia for adolescence seeps through his music, as does the realisation that growing up rarely goes smoothly. Following performances at Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter and Eurosonic, and the release of his debut album ‘Troubled Waters’, Isaac Roux is now deliberately seeking out the rough edges. His sound is becoming looser, faster and more lo-fi; screeching guitars, raw arrangements and rhythms that keep driving forward. Influences from Beach Fossils, the melancholy of The Cure and the dreamy, psychedelic layers of Tame Impala resonate in his music, always filtered through his own unpolished perspective.
