IQMF WEEKENDER 2026

The International Queer & Migrant Film Festival is back: from May 1st to May 3rd, we will return with a Weekender edition. During the first weekend of May, as usual, we will screen films that challenge, question, and open up our minds. For this edition, we are collaborating with The Yarn Sisters, Las Americas Festival and Schmutz Cinema, who use their own unique contributions to translate our festival’s themes to the big screen.

Additionally, our own programmers have worked hard to curate a film program in which we center alternative stories, attempting to make the experiences of others relatable. We will also be showing the final exhibition of Rainbow Rhythms, a two-year art project which we conducted with European partner organisations. So, plenty to look forward to!

During this weekend, we will look ahead and warm up for the eleventh edition of our annual festival, which will take place from December 3rd to 6st, 2026. By then, major premieres of fantastic and groundbreaking feature films are once again on the schedule in the already renovated main room of our home, LAB111.

Het International Queer & Migrant Film Festival is terug: van 1 mei tot en met 3 mei komen wij terug met een Weekender editie. Het eerste weekend van mei vertonen wij zoals gewoonlijk films die uitdagen, bevragen en openstellen. Voor deze editie werken we samen met onder andere The Yarn Sisters, Las Americas Festival en Schmutz Cinema, die met hun eigen inbreng de thematiek van ons festival weten te vertalen naar het grote scherm. Daarnaast hebben onze eigen programmeurs hard gewerkt om een filmprogramma samen te stellen, waarin we andere verhalen centraal stellen en zo proberen de ervaringen van anderen invoelbaar te maken. Ook tonen we de tentoonstelling van Rainbow Rhythms, een kuntsproject dat we de afgelopen 2 jaar uitvoerden in een Europees samenwerkingsverband. Genoeg om naar uit te kijken dus!

Tijdens dit weekend blikken we vooruit en draaien we warm voor de elfde editie van ons jaarlijkse festival, dat van 3 tot en met 6 december 2026 zal plaatsvinden. Dan staan er weer grote premières van fantastische en baanbrekende feature films op de planning in de dan reeds verbouwde grote zaal van ons thuis, LAB111.
