Where I, as a photographer, direct my camera, doors and windows appear as silent witnesses of human life. They show no faces, yet reveal presence: traces of hands, of waiting, of passing by. Each window seems to hold a breath, each door a story not yet told.
Everyone has encountered open and closed doors in life. Behind some windows hides a gaze directed outward; behind others lingers a memory that has remained. The doors, sometimes weathered and shut, carry time within them. What was once opened daily now stands still. What has been left behind, and what still lives on?
Within the robust, lived-in building of OT301, these images are given space to resonate. They are spread throughout the building like fragments of a city, printed on various materials, ranging from life-size to small and fragile. Like people themselves: present in different ways, visible or hidden.
This exhibition does not ask for quick answers, but for closeness. For the awareness that through every window someone is looking, and behind every door a life unfolds - sometimes richer and fuller than when it stands open. I invite the viewer not only to look, but to open inner doors. A closed door stimulates our curiosity.
