Holland Festival x Domein voor Kunstkritiek x UvA: Panelgesprek schrijven over hybride kunst
Which digital technologies are making their way into contemporary performing arts? And how are they showcased during the Holland Festival in June? How do we reflect on these innovative forms, and what can we learn from game criticism?

The Holland Festival creates space for new voices. During the Writers Residency — a program in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam (UvA) — students write reflections on festival performances. In addition, the Domain for Art Criticism (Domein voor Kunstkritiek) is organising a writing lab, commissioned by the Holland Festival, for eight emerging and established writers. Both projects offer a new generation of writers the opportunity to find language for hybrid art forms that still lack a developed vocabulary, including creative processes and performances that combine live performance with AI and avatars, or theatre pieces that actively engage with visual arts.

This panel discussion will dive into the world of hybrid art forms. Curious about how writers and creators reflect on the role of AI, avatars, and other digital innovations in the performing arts? Then sign up by Register by sending an email to: flora.dekkers@hollandfestival.nl. The event is free of charge, open to all and offers plenty of inspiration, exchange, and surprising insights.
