Grave of the Fireflies is a beautifully animated and gripping WW2 drama, one of Studio Ghibli's crown jewels. Directed by Isao Takahata, who died in 2018 and is also co-founder of the acclaimed studio, the film tells the story of the two young Japanese children Seita and Setsuko in the final days of World War II. When they are separated from their parents by an American fire bombing, brother and sister can only find support from each other as they do their best to survive.
