Grains of Sand - Visual Compositions of a Palestinian Scribbler
Join us for this concept-visual exhibition by Taha El Taha about being visible in a world that tries to erase you, speaking out repeatedly against hostility, polarization, and political distress, where facing one’s fate feels more certain than surviving to tell the tale.
The work traces a journey from being pulled into darkness, to glimpses of distant light that reveal new formations and a greater purpose. From there, survival becomes attainable and destiny returns to the artist’s control. The result is a self-destructing yet rhythmic play of lights and graphics, narrating a movement from endlessly seeking solace to accepting one’s given condition.
NieuwLand is wheelchair accessible but the toilets are not. The nearest public spaces with larger toilets are Wereld Museum Amsterdam (open Tuesday-Saturday 10-17) and hotel The Manor (open 24/7).
Entrance is free but there will be a donation jar (cash or pin). Please think about donating something if you are able - a place like NieuwLand can only exist through the contributions of volunteers and friends.
