Gerben Jongsma & Jeanne Chebret

Gerben Jongsma (2002) and Jeanne Chebret (2004), two percussion students from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, have joined forces to present a brand-new percussion duo: the Jongsma & Chebret Duo. Their shared love for percussion and classical music has fostered a strong bond between the players, resulting in various arrangements of classical piano works transformed into the enchanting combination of marimba and vibraphone. The wood of the marimba and the metal of the vibraphone bring these piano works to life in a completely new dimension. The duo also performs a new composition by Gerben Jongsma, inspired by 19th-century Dutch art.

Both Gerben and Jeanne explore the marimba, ranging from baroque fugues to French chansons, and from bluesy grooves to true "marimba classics." The result is a contrasting and captivating experience that fully showcases the versatility of percussion, inviting both percussion enthusiasts and music lovers to immerse themselves in the heartwarming sounds of the marimba and vibraphone.
