Friday Night Live ft. David van der Grinten 4tet

Amsterdam-born pianist, keyboardist, and composer David van der Grinten has been building a diverse career as a performer, composer, and collaborator. As a former member, composer, and performer with the acclaimed jazz-rock band SMANDEM., he has appeared on stages including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Het Concertgebouw, and Paradiso, and contributed to both the band's EP and full-length album. He has also performed with internationally recognized artists such as Ben van Gelder, Jasper Blom, and Seamus Blake. David later moved to New York City to pursue a master's degree at the Manhattan School of Music, where he spent two years studying with leading jazz musicians including Fred Hersch, Aaron Parks, and Jason Moran. Through his work as a composer, David seeks to express music that feels honest, fun, and touched with mystery—a reflection of both his curiosity and his commitment to authentic artistic growth.

For this special occasion David joins forces with a great band consisting of well sought-after musicians from the Dutch music scene: Max Boyer on guitar, Glenn Gaddum Jr. on bass and Yoràn Vroom on drums. Together, they will perform a vibrant set of original electric music as well as some covers from the modern jazz-repertoire.
