Felicity Provan Quartet // Duo Navarro Moore
Michael Moore presents:Double Bill – Two Bands with Unusual Line-ups

**FELICITY PROVAN QUARTET **

In cornettist and vocalist Felicity Provan’s quartet, all the band members use their voices alongside their instruments. In a lively blend of improvisation, lyrics, infectious grooves and lyrical melodies, they explore a variety of combinations and sonic possibilities. The music flows from solos to full quartet interplay, surprises with moments of group a cappella singing, and moves effortlessly between the delicate and the wild.

BASSEMBLE ÖNDER presents Vol.3
Jort Terwijn’s ÖNDER is a bassemble featuring double bass, bass guitar, two bass clarinets and drums. They present a fresh and rare configuration of low-register
instruments within the realm of acoustic-electronic instrumental music. Their compositions range from hypnotic, labyrinthine drones to chopped-up beats, and from spacious soundscapes to abrasive avant-garde — always in pursuit of new contours in the evolvinglineage of jazz.

Created in a four-day studio recording and shaped with plenty of post-production, Vol. 3 builds on the signature ÖNDER sound of pre-apocalyptic soundscapes, chopped-up beats, and industrial lullabies. The album showcases compositions by several band members, emphasising the collaborative character of the band.

Trèchoes recycles unused material from Vol. 2, The Birds Will Return is inspired by a documentary about Palestinian resistance to their occupation, and We Want Everything is based on the uprising of Fiat factory workers in Italy in the late sixties. These are followed by Atlantide, imagining a deep floating city, Winterkoninkje, and Łodz, a dedication to the Polish city that holds deep personal significance for the band, ending with Eurocoda, a reflection on the decline of Western hegemony.
