Exhibition opening: Framing Identities in a Digital Box

Exhibition opening: Framing Identities in a Digital Box
How do digital technologies alter our physical appearance online? How much of our values, goals, relationships and beliefs are shaped by features on social media, videogames and other software? This exhibition intends to explore the many ways through which we express ourselves online. Discover this theme trough the artworks on display!

The ways we curate our online personas is often a response of social expectations and digital trends creating pressure to fit certain ideals and raising questions about whether online self-expression reflects who we are or who we feel expected to be. Drawing on theories of cultural sociology and digital media, the boundary between authenticity and performance becomes blurred, and the physical and virtual seem to be inseparable in everyday life.
Exploring these tensions, the exhibition features video installations and photographic artworks that present different perspectives on the relationship between self-identity and the digital realm, inviting visitors to reflect critically on the dynamic between authenticity and performance, and how online activity is intertwined with our everyday social lives.
