Election debate: Our digital society

How will the parties and their candidates commit to digitisation in the Netherlands in the coming years? Find out during the election debate on our digital society on 22 October at 16:30 hrs in Eindhoven during Dutch Design Week.

In recent years, digitisation has become a higher priority in The Hague. For example, the Rutte IV cabinet appointed a minister for Digital Affairs, and in 2021 and 2023, various parties signed the "Digitaal Stembusakkoord". On October 29, the Netherlands will once again head to the polls for the House of Representatives elections. How will parties and candidates commit to digitisation in the Netherlands in the coming years?

During this debate, politicians from various parties will have the opportunity to present their perspectives. How will the Netherlands position itself in relation to big tech? What role should AI and algorithms play and how can their usage be organised in a responsible and transparent manner? And how can we ensure that citizens and civil society remain represented in these major technological decisions?

The debate will be moderated by Martijn de Greve (radio presenter at WNL Haagse Lobby). GL-PVDA (Barbara Kathmann), D66 (Nathalie van Berkel), CDA (Hemin Hawezy) and SP (Joost van de Sluis) will be present. The list of parties will be updated as the event approaches.
