Looking Forward

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans" (Allen Saunders)

A clock is ticking. An ever-changing to-do list hangs on a clothesline. Time runs forwards and backwards. What did we just do?

Just be in the moment", they say.

And yet days seem too short, our schedules too full and the unknown emptiness of a free afternoon makes us tremble in fear.

With stories, physical theatre and dance, three performers argue for a softer view on time. Not to the second. Not with a schedule. But with a humorous mix of remembering, looking forward and déjà vu.

Mixed Signal

Mixed Signal is a humoristic existential dance theater group founded by the friends Amit Palgi, Claudio Murabito and David Feenstra. They came from different places in the world and graduated as dancers in The Netherlands. Now they use their playful and confusing energy as friends to explore new perspectives on life.

As a collective they have worked with Dansbrabant, Makershuis Tilburg, ICK Dans Amsterdam, Theater Orpheus and performed at festivals and theaters such as Delft Fringe Festival, Theater Kikker, Plein Theater among others.

Conversations with Shadows: a performance about inner voices

What would our shadows say if you let them speak out loud?

Conversations with Shadows is a solo performance that sheds light on the chaotic, humorous, and often unspoken world of inner dialogues. The work explores the multitude of internal voices, from anxieties, desires, self-criticism, and surreal thoughts.

On stage, movement, voice, and sound collide as the performer navigates the fragmented landscape of their mind. The body reacts, resists, and responds to invisible thoughts, while voice-overs, spoken text, and live sound design reveal the absurdity, tenderness, and universality of our internal chatter. Inner voices interrupt, judge, fantasize, and confess, showing how much of our experience stays hidden beneath the surface.

Through sharp lighting that divides space and a layered soundscape inspired by recorded inner monologues, the performance becomes a living dialogue between the visible and the invisible, the rational and the irrational. Moments of vulnerability intersect with surreal humor, reminding us of the complexity and depth of our inner worlds.

Conversations with Shadows invites the audience into an intimate, exaggerated reality, one that feels both personal and strangely familiar.
