Modular Piano - Tony Roe (piano + modular synths) & Marcel Wierckx (interactive visuals)
Pianist Tony Roe – winner of the Boy Edgar Prize 2024 – is constantly exploring new ways to create music. He has a passion for interactive electronics and combines them with the acoustic grand piano. Modular Piano is a solo program in which Tony Roe, in collaboration with visual artist Marcel Wierckx, explores sonic possibilities using modular synths. Roe uses the piano not only as a musical instrument but also as an interface to control a variety of synths and visuals, pushing the boundaries of interactivity between music and visuals.
