“You can dance, if you want to,” is a sentence we feel deeply connects to Kennedy’s core of playing music. A non-forceful approach, but it damn well moves you if you allow it. The digging history of this Amsterdam vinyl-head runs deep. With over 20 years in the pipeline, exploring his love for the roots of house and techno in its widest sense, it’s a present to have him back in our booth again. He possesses the craft to let his fingers browse through records from the outer spectrums of electronics, and can tie them together like they were always meant to meet. “Music sounds better with you” feels like an understatement when he’s on the ones and twos. Joining him is Vasco, a record collector who’s not bound to any specific genre, something that speaks for both of them. Vasco plays music that sits within the soulful, but is always laced with a kind of toughness. A knack for the sweet and soft, fast and percussive, the tough and obscure.
