De Fanfare van de Eerste Liefdesnacht creates a musical party wherever she goes, playing an eclectic and exciting mix of Jazz, Swing, Soul and Global music, from Arabic grooves to Polish folk songs. Featuring instruments from tuba to triangle, we move our listeners’ hearts and feet with passion and humour. We’ve been described as “a sparkling, exuberant troupe with an energy that no audience can ignore”.

The band was formed over allmost fourty years ago in the turbulent days of the Amsterdam squatters’ movement, when she would play at demonstrations to deescalate potentially violent situations. While we have never lost our commitment to progressive social causes, we now play at many festivals and concerts as well as on the streets. With no need for amplification – so no need for tedious soundchecks or even an electricity supply – the 12-28 strong band can play anywhere and everywhere at the drop of a hat. She is dynamic, flexible, and above all fun.

Storytellers Streetband is designed to be played on the move in any situation, colourful & bold!
