About the Spring Celebration
The bees are buzzing, the flowers are blooming – time to celebrate the new season. Come to the De Ceuvel Spring Celebration on April 21 and 22: a free, festive two-day event in collaboration with The Pollinators. Whether you’re young or old, a nature lover or just in the mood for a fun day outside, this is the perfect moment to connect with each other and with nature. Invite your friends, neighbours, and fellow nature enthusiasts and join us on April 21 & 22.

Festive Opening: ‘Spring in Action’ 10:30 – 11:30 IAt the squareWe’ll kick off the day with a festive opening by the Humanistisch Verbond. During this ceremony, titled ‘Spring in Action’, we officially welcome the season and literally shine a spotlight on nature. The moment will be marked by a group sowing action and the grand opening of the brand new Ceuvel Bee Castle. Join us to greet the new season and give nature a helping hand!

Seed Bomb Workshop11:30 – 16:00 I On the Pollinator BoatSow the future! Learn all about seed bombs in this hands-on workshop. Create your own mix of native flower seeds, clay and compost—and throw them where you want nature to flourish. A fun way to help bees and other pollinators, and you’ll go home with your own bombs!
Ask the Beekeeper 12:00 – 16:00 IAt the beehives, on the east side of the boardwalkEver wanted to know what a bee’s life is like? Come to the Beehives between 12:00 and 16:00 and ask the beekeeper all your buzzing questions! From beekeeping processes to the importance of bees in nature—get the inside scoop on these vital insects.
The Pollinator Game

How important are pollinators for our food supply? Discover it through play and learn all about the essential role of bees and other pollinators in our ecosystem. Join in and receive a bag of flower seeds to sow yourself! A fun and educational activity for all ages!
Bee Hotel Workshop12:15 – 13:00 & 14:15 – 15:00 I In front of the caféDid you know you can make a lovely bee hotel with just a few simple materials? In this workshop, you’ll learn everything about building one, so you can welcome bees into your own garden. You’ll get hands-on with wood, bamboo and other bee-friendly materials.
Herb Safari (approx. 45 min)13:30 – 14:15 & 15:00 – 15:45 I Starts at the boardwalkDive into the world of herbs and discover their healing properties on this informative and playful herb walk. Our nature guide will take you past the herbs growing at De Ceuvel, teach you what they mean to bees and how they can be valuable in your own garden. A fascinating walk through nature!
Festive Closing 16:30 I At the firepit on the squareLet’s close the day together. Word artist De Droominee will wrap up the celebration with inspiring words and poetry. A moment of reflection and connection, as we welcome spring and look back on a day full of knowledge and energy!
Practical Info
The café is open for drinks and delicious vegan food (from 12 PM). Make a reservation to ensure your spot for lunch.
This day is for everyone: young, old, and everything in between. Whether you’re into sowing seeds, want to learn more about bees, or just want to enjoy a great day—there’s something for everyone!
