Polyamory is more visible than ever. Having multiple partners can allow for freedom, autonomy and fun. But how do you navigate this when your upbringing tells you to follow a singular path or while raising children? And how do you deal with jealousy?
On the occasion of the publication of her book Je mag me alles vragen: liefde in een open huwelijk, writer and journalist Deepa Paul will share her personal journey: from growing up in the deeply catholic Philippines, where divorce is nearly impossible, to shaping an open marriage in The Netherlands. Together with others, we’ll discuss the realities of having multiple romantic partners, from navigating family and cultural expectations to redefining love on your own terms. We will explore what it means to embrace multiple lovers and multiple identities.

Deepa Paul is a Filipina-Indian author living in Amsterdam. Her writing explores the balance between being a mother, wife, girlfriend, daughter, adventurer, and herself – all at the same time. Her journalistic writing has appeared in Seventeen Magazine Philippines, The Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, and Singapore Women’s Weekly, while her personal essays have been published in Cheex, Gal-Dem, the Sky Island Journal, Expanded Field and Rappler. Je mag me alles vragen is her literary debut, to be published at April 8, and for the first time on sale at the event.
Eva de Goeij leeft inmiddels tien jaar non-monogaam en is recent moeder geworden – een nieuwe dimensie in haar liefdesleven waar ze nog volop haar weg in vindt. Ze organiseert praatgroepen voor non-monogame mensen en werkt als expert seksuele gezondheid. Daarnaast is ze onderzoeker bij Ava, de Nederlandse belangenorganisatie voor anticonceptie en abortus. Op Instagram beantwoordt ze af en toe vragen als @Eva_Perel en verstuurt ze nieuwsbrieven, zonder influencerambities.
Manoj Kamps is queer, nonbinair en polyamoreus, met Sri Lankaanse, Nederlandse en Britse roots. Hen heeft als dirigent/theatermaker/schrijver een internationale carrière, werkte o.a. bij De Nationale Opera, het Rotterdams Philharmonisch, het Orkest van de 18e Eeuw en het Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, en trad buiten Europa op in o.a. New York, Tokyo en Mexico City. Voor Kamps lopen werk en activisme in elkaar over; naast geijkt repertoire gaan veel van diens producties/stukken over o.a. gender en seksualiteit, de klimaatcatastrofe, racisme, en hiv/aids/PrEP.
