Collective Reading: Transatlantic Voices writing workshop

Collective Reading: Transatlantic Voices writing workshop

On a late summer evening, we will gather at the Perdu bookshop to conclude the Transatlantic Voices series with an intimate collective reading by the participants. Everyone will share pieces and poems developed over the course of the workshop.

Over the past eight weeks, we gathered to explore the poetics of contemporary Latin American women authors: Cecilia Pavón (Argentina), Maricela Guerrero (Mexico), Tilsa Otta (Peru), Mara Pastor (Puerto Rico), and Legna Rodríguez Iglesias (Cuba). Inspired by their words, each participant wrote poems in response. During our sessions, we shared and dissected our writing, delved into the work of the authors we explored, and created space for collective reflection, dialogue, and poetic experimentation.

Pembroke King, Carolina Cuevas Parra, siofra thomas, Paulina Bastian Alvarado, Katherina Gorodynska, Parker Burrows, Mariken Overdijk, Lynn Gommes, Verónica Copello Duque, and Lotte van Gelder will read their work during this event, with a special contribution by Azul De Monte, Argentine visual artist and poet, who also created the visual landscape of the series and will read from her recent bilingual publication Una promesa se insinúa ~ A Promise Is Made.
