Clay Ornament Workshop

Clay Ornament Workshop

DATES: 28/11/2026

TIME: 13H30-15H30

PRICE: €75; €25 for Stadspas holders

LANGUAGE: EN

A slow afternoon with clay, making something small to keep.

In this handbuilding workshop, you'll create your own clay ornaments — objects to hang on a tree, a wall, a branch, or simply keep somewhere you can see them.

We’ll begin by looking at simple forms, textures, templates and patterns for inspiration. You’ll then shape your ornaments by hand and make them your own through carving, imprinting and surface details.

You can create something seasonal, something inspired by nature, or simply follow a shape or pattern you’re drawn to. There is no experience needed, just time to experiment with clay and make something that feels like yours.

The workshop is intentionally small and relaxed. There will be tea, coffee, conversation and time to slow down and work with your hands.

Your ornaments will be fired in the studio and ready to collect within a few weeks, in time to bring them into your home for the season ahead, and hopefully for many seasons after.

Workshop will be held in English.

HOSTED BY

RAVA, a word from Ursula K. Le Guin’s Always Coming Home, means communication beyond words. Studio RAVA, founded by Damla Aygun, is a design and creativity practice working across ceramic art, sculpture, design thinking, and creative entrepreneurship. Damla’s work begins with clay: a material for touch, memory, and communication beyond words.

Raised in a family of makers, she learned early that emotion can live in craft, in woven fabric, carved surfaces, and objects made by hand. Her work is informed by feminist histories of making, looking to the marks and knowledge women have carried through art, craft, domestic spaces, and everyday objects. Her ceramics and sculptures continue that quiet language, giving form to stories that are felt rather than spoken.

Alongside her artistic practice, Damla works as a strategy, creativity, and innovation consultant. She is interested in how people think, create, and make decisions, and in helping them discover their own creative strength.

Through workshops on clay, design, and creative practice, she creates calm, curious spaces to explore, reflect, and make.
