CAMERA JAPAN Festival is a yearly multidisciplinary Japanese arts and culture festival with a focus on film and a broad assortment of other visual and performing arts, music, and culinary delights.

Het CAMERA JAPAN Festival is een jaarlijks multidisciplinair Japans kunst- en cultuurfestival met een focus op film en een breed scala aan andere visuele kunsten, muziek en gastronomie. Wat begon als een selectie van 19 films, samengesteld door zes enthousiaste organisatoren, is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot één van de grootste Japanse culturele festivals in de Benelux, met een toegewijde groep vrijwilligers, een uitgebreid programma en bijna 50 films op het rooster, verspreid over twee steden. Het festival laat Japanse cinema in alle vormen en maten zien: van prijswinnend drama tot epische anime en van komische actiefilms tot bijzondere gerestaureerde klassiekers. Dit jaar keert CAMERA JAPAN voor de 20e editie terug naar LAB111 met een veelzijdige selectie van films (inclusief een speciaal ICHIKAWA Kon retrospectief), onze Japanse markt, en een nevenprogramma met workshops en proeverijen. Er is voor ieder wat wils: mis het niet!

Camera Japan Festival is a yearly multidisciplinary Japanese arts and culture festival with a focus on film and a broad assortment of other visual and performing arts, music, and culinary delights. What started as a selection of 19 films picked by six enthusiastic organisers has now grown into one of the biggest Japanese cultural festivals in the Benelux. Today, CAMERA JAPAN has a dedicated group of volunteers, an extensive programme, and a screening schedule of almost 50 films spread across two cities. The festival shows Japanese cinema in all its shapes and sizes, ranging from award-winning drama to epic anime, and from comical action films to restored classics. This year, CAMERA JAPAN returns to LAB111 for its 20th edition with a versatile selection of films (including a special ICHIKAWA Kon retrospective), our Japanese market, and an additional programme with workshops and tasting sessions.
