Café 't Mandje - 100 Jaar Queer Amsterdam
On Sunday 28 February, we’ll be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Café 't Mandje. Founded in 1927, this traditional pub was run by pioneer Bet van Beeren and went on to become a fixture within the queer community, both in Amsterdam and far beyond.
As Amsterdam’s first queer café, ‘t Mandje has symbolised connection and community for a century. With this anniversary, we are celebrating not only the pub’s existence, but also 100 years of queer presence in the city.
An evening for, by and with the queer community. With De Trut in de Kelder and a spectacular programme in the Big Hall – of which the line-up will be announced later – we’ll be celebrating a century of queer history together, as well as the future that lies ahead.
