Bug Teeth
With five green insect hats poking out above the stage, Bug Teeth conjures a world that feels just out of reach. Dreamy, enchanting, and relentless, raw guitars and skittish drum and bass rhythms break through hazy, ambient dreamscapes. The lyrics are direct and poetic, with each song feeling like a slide under a microscope, examining the intimate, the infinite, and everything in between.
Born from a DIY ethos, Bug Teeth began as the electronic bedroom project of frontperson PJ Johnson, who produced ethereal melodies from home. From these delicate, lo-fi beginnings emerged a raw, celestial sound that draws listeners into its unique orbit. Over time, the project evolved into a full band. Bug Teeth’s live shows are both vulnerable and relentless: a hypnotic interplay between distortion and stillness.
Their music moves beyond genre boundaries, drawing influences from dreampop, electronic ambient, and breakbeat to create something that feels both weightless and deeply rooted. Their latest single, *Landscaping*, further expands their sonic world, balancing beauty with abrasive grief. With ongoing support from radio and music editors, alongside a growing cult following, Bug Teeth continues to evolve: constantly shifting shape, expanding, and carrying listeners into the space between waking and dreaming.
