Brainstory
Based in Los Angeles but rooted in Rialto, California, Brainstory consists of brothers Kevin and Tony Martin alongside their musical kindred spirit and longtime friend, Eric Hagstrom. Their connection originally took shape through a music school focused on jazz performance and the grind of playing local shows, a bond strengthened over the years through relentless touring and multiple studio albums. Under the guidance of producer and label head Leon Michels, the trio releases their music on the acclaimed New York-based label Big Crown Records. Musically, the group delivers a distinct, dreamy blend of psychedelic soul, jazz, funk, and latin. Their sound feels warm and nostalgic yet effortlessly modern, perfectly mirroring their California roots with laid-back vibes, lush vocals, jazzy guitar lines, and a smooth rhythm section. Infused with 1960s and 70s chicano soul influences, Brainstory sounds like a vintage LP brought beautifully into the present day.
