Showing up is really the most important thing you can do. The same goes for starting to write songs at seventeen, and for forming a band seven years later and introducing it to the world. BLUAI has been around since 2021, and in that time has gathered more than a weekend bag's worth of music, proving themselves on stage time and again — with all the indie-folk influences that entails. When the indie-pop trio — Catherine Smet, Mo Govaerts, and Caitlin Talbut — won three music competitions in Belgium within a single year, the rest of the country (and soon the world, with shows in the UK showcase circuit) quickly caught wind of them on the radio and on festival line-ups at Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, Lokerse Feesten, and Cactus Festival.
