Black Star, comprising Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli, return to Paradiso in November. They will perform hits from their debut album ‘Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star’ and their second album ‘No Fear Of Time’.
Two of hip-hop’s most respected and acclaimed solo artists joined forces in 1998 as Black Star to create their groundbreaking debut ‘Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star’. This project cemented their position as standard-bearers of socially conscious rap, combining sharp political commentary, Afrocentric philosophy and poetic wordplay with soulful, jazz-infused beats. Their chemistry, lyrical depth and commitment to telling the truth made the album a cult classic and a blueprint for generations of underground artists. After years of solo success, Black Star reunited in 2022 for ‘No Fear of Time’, produced by Madlib, reminding the world that their voices still resonate just as powerfully.
