Before Sunrise

Lines from films float across the surface, quiet fragments that guide the eye, adding a subtle layer of narrative and evoking the emotional depth of cinema. These images don’t just meet the eye; they reach something beneath it. Something unnamed, yet deeply felt. They invite reflection, like scenes from a dream you vaguely recall, or a film that once moved you deeply, without knowing exactly why. And in a silent moment, somewhere between seeing and feeling, you recognize: you felt it too.
From August 5, a selection of works will already be on view at Bar Strangelove. On September 4, the festive opening takes place, featuring additional works, the opportunity to purchase prints and a special reading in dialogue with the themes of the series by poet and writer Adriana Ivanova. The full exhibition will be on display in LAB111’s gallery space until September 14. Entry is free.
As a complement to the exhibition, the film Before Sunrise – a key influence on the artist’s work – will be screened at 21:00.
About
Danique Jaspers (@qiqi_visuals) is a photographer and filmmaker with a love for old films, dreamlike visuals, and stories that don’t need to be told in straight lines. Her work is not about perfection, but about emotion, about what is truly felt.
With an eye for softness, stillness, and the unspoken, she creates images that feel like memories: tender, timeless, and often touched by a sense of melancholy. She works both autonomously and on commission, always with deep attention to atmosphere, humanity, and detail.
