Four artist, four residencies, four new stories in the making. This summer, our venue becomes a workspace and a base for artists who challenge boundaries and explore innovative performing arts. From poetry to queerness and puppetry to magic: take a look into the work-in-progress of tomorrow's performing arts.

From August 12th to August 23rd, we welcome the second artist-in-residence:

Roberta Maimone

Choreographer, Performer and Director Roberta Maimone founded Memic Project; an interdisciplinary initiative that blends dance, theatricality, music, and visual storytelling to create immersive, emotionally resonant experiences. Drawing inspiration from mime, puppetry, and graphic novels, Memic crafts performances that intertwine humor, fantasy, and deep emotional undercurrents.

It's about time

The focus of this residency is to expand my current research at the intersection of puppetry, identity, and transformation.

In this phase, Memic Project will introduce a new collaboration with a prop/mask designer, whose work brings visceral tactility and uncanny presence to stage objects. Together, we are creating a solo performance where the mask becomes a puppet and I become its embodiment, blurring the line between object and subject, body and extension, performer and performed.
Influenced by Japanese Bunraku, the work explores how bodies and identities morph, adapt, and fragment under internal and external pressures. The puppet and mask are not accessories but partners in transformation, amplifying the complexity of the human condition in a time of social flux, where identity is no longer fixed, but mutable, responsive, and in motion.

On August 23rd, a work-in-progress will be presented, followed by a Q&A
