Atzko Kohashi & Tony Overwater

In preparation for their second tour of Japan this October, Japanese pianist Atzko Kohashi and bassist Tony Overwater present their repertoire at Splendor. Alongside compositions from their latest album Porgy, they will perform music from earlier acclaimed releases such as A Drum Thing and Crescent.

Piano and double bass meet as equal partners, with melody and harmony intertwining in an intimate musical dialogue—close-knit, yet at once delicate and dynamic. Blending Japanese aesthetics with European curiosity, Kohashi and Overwater create a captivating musical partnership.
