Canadian band Angine de Poitrine will perform on Saturday 31 October at London Calling Festival in Paradiso. The duo broke through internationally earlier this year after a KEXP session racked up millions of views.

Angine de Poitrine operates somewhere between a gig and performance art. The band consists of Khn (guitar, loop pedal) and Klek (drums), who remain anonymous, performing in Dadaist-inspired costumes and masks. Their live shows are built around pulsating drums, layered loops, and repetitive structures, with a heavy emphasis on rhythm and dynamics.

Central to their music is a custom-built microtonal double-neck guitar, allowing them to play the microtones that fall between standard notes. This creates a rich, disorienting sound where texture and repetition play a leading role.

London Calling
Since 1992, London Calling Festival has been showcasing emerging bands that go on to fill much larger venues. This edition's line-up already features COLA, Ulrika Spacek, Cardinals, Arima Ederra, and Sports, with more names to be announced later.
