Aftershock: The Seismic Impact of Dubstep

Lauren Martin, the Scottish, London-based music writer and editor (formerly of RBMA, DJ Mag, and others), published "Aftershock: The Seismic Impact of Dubstep" in 2026 through Velocity Press. The first book on dubstep history, it's an oral history of the British electronic music genre’s origin story, as told through extensive interviews with 28 key artists and industry figures, and exclusive photography and visual ephemera from artists and photographers. 

In this hosted Q&A session featuring exclusive photography and video footage, Martin will discuss dubstep history and influence, how its sound and principles show up in contemporary music scenes, and the importance of archiving music culture.
