DESCRIPTION:Is the water here clean enough to swim in? Why does water somet
imes turn green?\nDo you care about water\, or simply use it every day? An
d are you curious about\nhow water quality is actually measured? Then this
workshop is for you.\n\nWater quality is increasingly under pressure due
to climate change\, pollution\,\nand the ways we shape and use our environ
ment. At the same time\, it is often\ndifficult to tell how healthy water
	really is\, even though it has a direct\nimpact on people\, animals\, and
ecosystems around us. That is why learning how to\nobserve and better unde
rstand what is happening in and around water is becoming\nmore important t
han ever.\n\nDuring the workshop\, you will explore how water quality is m
onitored and\nassessed. Start inside the Waag and then we step outside. Wi
th simple tools and\nhands-on activities\, you'll get to test and observe
water yourself. You will\nlearn how to recognise signs of pollution and di
scover how your own observations\ncan contribute to wider water quality re
search. Along the way\, you will gain\npractical skills and tools that you
can also use to explore and monitor water in\nyour own surroundings. In t
his way\, you will gain more understanding of water\nquality and become wi
ser about water. In other words: water wise! Join us\noutside to observe\,
measure\, and discover all the things water can tell you.\n\n\nPROGRAMME\

OSAGIE\n\nNehis is a researcher at Waag. His work involves exploring how

and just for all\nliving beings.\n\n\nENFORCE\n\nThis event is part of a
series of activities and workshops organised within the\nEuropean Enforce
project. Over the course of four years\, Waag Futurelab explores\nhow data
collected by citizens can support environmental enforcement and help\npro
tect a healthy living environment. Waag leads one of eight case studies in
\nthe project. Read more about the Enforce project page\n[https://waag.org

roject on the official project website [https://join-enforce.eu/].\n\n\nWA
AG OPEN\n\nEvery first Thursday evening of the month\, Waag opens its door
	s. Join us to\nexplore\, discuss\, and make. At Waag Open\, we don’t just
talk about social issues\nand the future. You’ll also get hands-on with so
mething new. Try out tools and\ntechnologies you’ve always been curious ab
out\, like the 3D printers in the\nFabLab\, or dive into something complet
ely unexpected\, such as exploring the\nbuilding blocks of DNA in our biot
ech lab.\n\n\nACCESIBILITY\n\nIf you are tight on funds and want to partic
ipate in this event\, please get in\ntouch with nehis ⟨ at ⟩ waag.org [htt
