DESCRIPTION:Território“Território” is a series of photographs taken between
2012 and 2026\nthat document part of the daily life of an Indigenous terr
itory reclaimed in\nPeruíbe\, on the southern coast of São Paulo. The exhi
bition shows routines\,\npractices\, knowledge\, and affections into a few
images. These photos seek to\ngive visibility to the existence and resist
ance of a tupi guarani people.\n\nAbout.\n\nIn 1950\, hundreds of Indigeno
us people were expelled from their land by a mining\ncompany.\n\nFor 50 ye
ars\, all the vegetation\, soil\, and life in this territory were\ndevasta
	ted.\n\nIn 2000\, an elder\, Dona Catarina\, organized her family\, return
ed to the\nterritory where her ancestors lived\, and confronted the mining
company and the\nstate. The threats and conflicts were constant.\n\nThe e
xistence of this people in this territory became synonymous of resistance.
\n\nIn 2012\, a group of young Indigenous people met us due to demonstrati
ons and\nstruggles in the neighboring city and invited us to participate i
	n a process of\nbuilding houses\, schools\, cultural centers\, community k
	itchens\, bathrooms\,\nresistance and struggle in this territory.\n\nIn 20
16\, after many struggles\, the territory was recognized as Indigenous Lan
d\nby the Brazilian state.\n\nDuring these years\, with an old camera in h
and\, at the request of the families\,\nwe took these photos\, something l
ike proof of the existence of a people.\n\nThe exhibition “Território” pre
sents some of these photos.\n\n“Território” speaks about the possibility o
f existing in the world in other\nways\, completely distant from the state
and capitalism.\n\nThe Piaçaguera Indigenous Land resists\, the struggle
	continues!Cultive\nResistência\, 2026\n\nDiscussion.\n\nA moment to share
stories of struggle and organization.\n\nWe have been with Indigenous fami
lies since 2012\, collectively supporting and\nbeing supported by these pe
	ople. Building collectives\, events\, villages\,\ngenerating income\, self
	-esteem\, coexistence\, closing highways\, organizing\ndemonstrations and
learning new ways to exist and resist!\n\nBy Cultive Resistência.\n\nabout
the band:\n\nÁgua is an idea\, a feeling\, a tool that we recommend using
to spread ideas and\nfeelings.We emerged as a band in 2020\, in the middl
e of the Brazilian forest\nwith the idea of using music to propose and gen
erate change. In search of a\nbetter place for us\, collectively\, humans
and non-humans\, in all our\ndiversity.We seek to reach restless and nonco
nformist minds just like ours. We\nseek to feel the music and touch hearts
	\, taking our restlessness and\nnonconformity everywhere.Through music\, w
e want to spread\, reach every corner\,\nbreak barriers\, and gather where
there are pockets of resistance. We are a punk\,\nanarchist band that beli
eves in Do It Yourself and in building another way of\nliving on earth.\n\
nTo be water is to be ungovernable.
