DESCRIPTION:Temples gained worldwide success in 2012 while an impressive wa
ve of\nneo-psychedelic bands flourished the charts and the festival circui
	t. On\n“Shelter Song” and their subsequent debut album “Sun Structures\,”
the band drew\ninspiration from the nostalgic melodies and hypnotic\, non-
Western grooves that\nwere embraced in the 1960s. Subsequent albums featur
ed layered synth work\n(Volcano\, 2015)\, a reimagining of the 1970s (Hot
Motion\, 2019)\, and utopian\nproductions with creative input from Sean Le
nnon (Exotico\, 2023). This summer\nthey'll release their fifth album\, wh
ere they draw on a very different approach.\n\n\nBLISS\n\nOn their fifth s
tudio album\, ‘BLISS\,’ set for release on June 26\, the quartet\ndrew ins
piration from 90s dance music. With their signature psychedelic riffs\nand
loops\, euphoria is deeply woven into Temples’ DNA. The band says of that
\ninspiration:\n\n"There’s something special about certain songs from the
golden era of Ibiza\ndance music—it’s euphoric but also tinged with melanc
holy. The feeling of these\nsongs heavily inspired ‘Vendetta\,’ although w
e didn’t want to go fully down the\npastiche route. The production of this
song really sums up the record for me\,\nwith the use of self-sampling an
d creating unusual texture combinations while\nmaintaining a strong melodi
c core. I’ve always loved songs that are instantly\nrecognizable from the
first bar\, and ‘Vendetta’ doesn’t shy away from pulling\nyou in from the
very first beat.”\n\nOn Tuesday\, November 3\, Temples returns to the Neth
erlands for a show in our MAX\nhall!
