DESCRIPTION:A peek into an opera-in-the-making\n\nFor this first performanc
e\, we present the first part of my music theater piece\nTales and Mutabil
ity: Prologue\, Scene 1\, and Intermezzo.\n\nThe piece is a music theatre
work for three performers—a singer (The Seer)\, an\nactor (The Pirate Prin
cess)\, and a dancer (The Trickster)—and six musicians.\nEach character ha
s their own artistic language: voice\, text\, or movement.\n\nIn this exce
rpt\, the audience is introduced to the three characters and the\nworld th
ey inhabit. At first\, they exist separately\, each within their own\ndisc
ipline. The Seer sings the future\, the Pirate Princess collects stories\,
and\nthe Trickster moves between worlds. A central conflict emerges when
the Pirate\nPrincess steals the Seer’s voice\, setting the story in motion
	.\n\nThe performance combines live music\, voice\, movement\, and cassette
tapes\, which\nplay an important role both musically and visually. The in
termezzo begins the\ntransformation of the characters\, as boundaries betw
een their disciplines start\nto shift.\n\nWe will start with ca. 25-30 min
utes of music/performance\, followed by a Q&A in\nwhich we talk more about
the project and the thoughts behind it.\n\n-Repertoire by Wilma Pistorius
