DESCRIPTION:An interactive workshop exploring free vocal improvisation\n\nD
iscover your own intuitive and our collective creativity in this fun works
	hop\nwith Claron McFadden!\n\nSplendor musician Claron McFadden [http://cl
	aronmcfadden.com/] doesn't only\npossess a mesmerising voice with which sh
e leaves worldwide audiences in awe\nwherever she takes the stage (whether
she sings early baroque or the latest\ncompositions that often were writt
en especially for her) – she also holds an\ninvestigative and philosophica
l curiosity about the world\, always searching for\nwonderful new people t
	o meet\, possibilities to learn\, and inspiration to create.\nClaron can p
op up in the main programming of the Holland Festival\, in an\nunderground
jazz bar\, in a multidisciplinary experimental theatre piece\, in a\nsqua
t club\, or in a music theatre performance that she herself inititiated: a
nd\nwherever you encounter her\, she is guaranteed to blow your mind while
at the\nsame time make you feel as comfortable and joyful as in your own
home.\n\nIn this interactive (and fun!) workshop with Claron\, we'll be di
ving into the\nworld of improvisation\, exploring what's 'between the note
s' and searching for\nthat which scientists call the Swarm Principle. We m
ainly know this principle\,\nin which a system collaborates in a collectiv
e but de-centralised and\nself-organising way\, from examples in nature su
ch as bird flocking\, bee colonies\nor bacterial growth. But can people do
this too? Claron has no doubt about it.\nShe asked professor Robbert Dijk
graaf whether particles can improvise\, and when\nhe said "absolutely!" sh
e knew it: if atoms can do it\, so can we.\n\nClaron originally developed
the SWARM! workshop for singers\, but she strongly\nbelieves that anyone w
ho is open-minded and comfortable 'making noises' with\ntheir own body\, c
an gain something from this workshop. The focus will be on the\ndiscovery
of your own intuitive creativity and on how improvisation within a\ngroup
	can generate a connective/collective energy: a group which 'swarms'\ntoget
her\, moving as one entity toward a common goal.\n\nDuration: ±120 minutes
\n\nWhether you're totally new to improvisation or have experience\, there
is a\nworkshop for every level\, so:\nLeave your inhibitions at the door
and dive into the exciting and liberating\nworld of improvisation and inst
	ant composition.\n10:30-12:30 Beginners\; no experience with impro\n14:00-

Combined with many other events\, this\nmeans that our members have free

and artists and audience are constantly mingling and\nhanging out at the b

labeled 'too risky' elsewhere\, and that still guarantees high\nquality by
