	what we really\nare: illiterate\, feral slaves dominated by an all-matriar
	chal society. After\nnuclear war has collapsed civilization\, women\, clea
	rly the smarter half of our\nspecies\, rule what remains of the world\, wh
	ich\, given the film’s budget\, is not\nvery much. Men have lost the abili
	ty to read\, can barely communicate\, and are\nkept either as labouring sl
	aves or as “seeders\,” until one runaway macho\ndiscovers the most powerfu
	l artifact in the known universe: a first-grader’s\nreading book.\n\nThe f
	ilm’s most interesting angle is its language: to suggest linguistic decay\
	,\nevery faction speaks in made-up slang\, not unlike the youth argot of A
	 Clockwork\nOrange\, just way dumber. To fully enjoy the creativity of its
	 constructed\njargon\, this screening will be subtitled in English. Otherw
	ise\, you might miss\nsuch tearjerking dialogue highlights as: “Neggy more
	 machos. Neggy more toys.\nNeggy more seeders. Just men.”
