DESCRIPTION:Filmhuis Den Haag\, Melkweg and Paard present ‘Getting the Band
Back Together’ in\nNovember\, a joint music film programme celebrating ba
nds in all shapes\, sizes\nand genres.\n\n'Sing Street'\, directed by John
Carney (Once\, Begin Again)\, is set in 1985\,\nwhere we follow 14-year-o
ld Conor (Ferdia Walsch-Peelo) as he moves from a\nprivate school to a rou
gh state school in Dublin when his parents can no longer\nafford the fees.
At school\, he has to deal with a strict headmaster\, whilst at\nhome his
parents do nothing but argue. His escape is music\, the basics of which\n
he learns from his older brother Brendan (Jack Reynor). When he meets the\
nbeautiful Raphina (Lucy Boynton)\, Conor falls in love at first sight. He
asks\nher if she’d like to appear in his band’s music video. Conor will h
ave to act\nfast to put a band together\, because the band he’s talking ab
out – the one he\nhopes will impress Raphina – doesn’t actually exist yet.
\n\nMelkweg often hosts different types of programmes at the same time\, s
uch as\nconcerts\, club nights and films. Please note that there may occas
ionally be some\nnoise pollution from other programmes during the screenin
	g.
