DESCRIPTION:As part of the exhibition Secret Arts Teachers\, Framer Framed
hosts a workshop\nconducted by Stephanie Koning entitled Sweet Memories\,
where participants engage\nwith their childhood memories via marshmallows.
The workshop will be held\nSaturday 12 September at 15:00.\n\nIn a worksh
op inspired by artist Simone Post\, who recreated her own childhood\nhome
with marshmallows\, Koning will guide participants in learning through pla
y\,\nthrowing aside expectations and technical constraints in favour of tr
ial and\nerror.\n\nIn revisiting childhood\, Koning wishes for participant
s to revisit their ability\nto play\, be it through recreating memories or
places from childhood\, or creating\nsomething entirely new.\n\nThe works
hop is open to everyone\, regardless of prior artistic experience. What\ni
s most important is to have fun and be playful!\n\nFrom 11 to 27 September
2026\, Framer Framed presents Secret Arts Teachers\, a\ngroup presentatio
n in which the classroom enters the exhibition space. The\nexhibition is t
he result of an international project by the Art Education\nresearch group
at the Amsterdam University of the Arts\, in which art teachers\nuse thei
r teaching practice as an artistic workspace.\n\nIn Secret Arts Teachers\,
art teachers work on the basis of a single shared\nquestion: what does ar
t look like when you create it at the heart of the\nclassroom\, together w
ith students? The project is based on the concept of the\nTeacher as Conce
	ptual Artist\n[https://framerframed.nl/projecten/ahk-symposium-en-expositi
e-teacher-as-conceptual-artist/]\,\nin which the distinction between teach
ing and making art is blurred. Teachers\nshare their own artistic practice
with the students and treat the classroom as a\ntemporary art collective.
The students are co-creators and the learning process\nitself is part of
the work. On display in the exhibition are the surprising\noutcomes of the
se experiments\, ranging from playful assignments to activist\ninterventio
ns and forms of (deliberate) failure.\n\nSecret Arts Teachers was initiate
d by the Art Education research group organised\nby the Amsterdam Universi
ty of the Arts (AHK) and brought together twenty art\nteachers from primar
y and secondary schools across the Netherlands. During\nvarious meetings i
	n Amsterdam\, they exchanged experiences\, developed new\nteaching methods
and took part in inspirational sessions led by artists and\ntheatre maker
	s. This gave rise to new educational assignments that allow room\nfor unce
rtainty\, play and failure\, ranging from activist actions to the forgery\
nof a masterpiece.\n\nGuided by guest curator Kevin van Braak the exhibiti
on explores the question of\nhow art and education relate to one another w
hen they are not approached as\nseparate spheres\, but as something that\,
	 in practice\, constantly intersects and\nevolves.\n\nInfo & Credits\n\nTh
is event is in Dutch. Admission is free\, pay what you can. Do you also th
ink\nart should be free and accessible? Please consider supporting us with
a donation\nwhen registering or by becoming a Framer Framed Friend\n[http

\nfilmed. Kindly let us know in advance if you prefer not to have your pic
ture\ntaken. For seated programmes\, places are always made available for
wheelchair\nusers. Please speak to the host before the programme begins.\n

p at the\nAmsterdam University of the Arts (AHK)\, Framer Framed and Kevin
van Braak\, and\nis made possible in part by the ELJA Foundation and the
