DESCRIPTION:As part of the Secret Arts Teachers exhibition\, Framer Framed
presents the\nworkshop Wicked Card Assignments by Saskia van Heugten. The
workshop takes place\non Sunday 27 September at 16:00.\n\nDuring this work
shop\, Van Heugten guides participants in making artistic cards.\nParticip
ants craft their cards in five one-minute rounds\, with reduced senses.\nT
he workshop is open to everyone\, including children\, regardless of prior
	\nartistic experience. Please register here\n[https://framerframed.stager.
	co/shop/default/events/111697795].\n\nFrom 11 to 27 September 2026\, Frame
r Framed presents Secret Arts Teachers\, a\ngroup presentation in which th
e classroom enters the exhibition space. The\nexhibition is the result of
an international project by the Art Education\nresearch group at the Amste
rdam University of the Arts\, in which art teachers\nuse their teaching pr
actice as an artistic workspace.\n\nIn Secret Arts Teachers\, art teachers
work on the basis of a single shared\nquestion: what does art look like w
hen you create it at the heart of the\nclassroom\, together with students?
The project is based on the concept of the\nTeacher as Conceptual Artist\
	n[https://framerframed.nl/projecten/ahk-symposium-en-expositie-teacher-as-
conceptual-artist/]\,\nin which the distinction between teaching and makin
g art is blurred. Teachers\nshare their own artistic practice with the stu
dents and treat the classroom as a\ntemporary art collective. The students
are co-creators and the learning process\nitself is part of the work. On
display in the exhibition are the surprising\noutcomes of these experiment
s\, ranging from playful assignments to activist\ninterventions and forms
of (deliberate) failure.\n\nSecret Arts Teachers was initiated by the Art
Education research group organised\nby the Amsterdam University of the Art
s (AHK) and brought together twenty art\nteachers from primary and seconda
ry schools across the Netherlands. During\nvarious meetings in Amsterdam\,
they exchanged experiences\, developed new\nteaching methods and took par
t in inspirational sessions led by artists and\ntheatre makers. This gave
rise to new educational assignments that allow room\nfor uncertainty\, pla
y and failure\, ranging from activist actions to the forgery\nof a masterp
iece.\n\nGuided by guest curator Kevin van Braak the exhibition explores t
he question of\nhow art and education relate to one another when they are
not approached as\nseparate spheres\, but as something that\, in practice\
	, constantly intersects and\nevolves.\n\nInfo & Credits\n\nThis event is i
n Dutch. Admission is free\, pay what you can.\n\nSecret Arts Teachers has
been curated by the Art Education Research Group at the\nAmsterdam Univer
sity of the Arts (AHK)\, Framer Framed and Kevin van Braak\, and\nis made
possible in part by the ELJA Foundation and the Cultuurfonds.\n\nFramer Fr
amed is supported by the Ministry of Education\, Culture and Science\;\nAm
sterdam Fund for the Arts\; Municipality of Amsterdam\; and VriendenLoteri
	j\nFonds.\n\nLocation\n\nFramer Framed\nOranje-Vrijstaatkade 71\n1093KS\,
