e Choir Amsterdam organises monthly rehearsals. We\npractice protest songs
that we sing during climate actions and other events.\nMusic offers us co
mfort. It is a creative outlet for frustrations. It is a way\nto create so
mething beautiful as a group\, driven by our desire to make the world\na b
etter and more beautiful place. Led by conductor Blue Dog (Matthias Konecn
y)\,\nyou will learn protest songs used to inspire people to do better for
Mother\nEarth. We are part of a national network of choirs (klimaatkoren.
	nl\n[http://klimaatkoren.nl/]).\n\n\nFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS\n\nDo I ne
ed to read sheet music to join? No. Our choir has no entry requirements.\n
Anyone who loves singing and Mother Earth is welcome. Sheet music is provi
ded\,\nbut we also work with audio files so you can practice songs by ear.
We do sing\npolyphonic (multi-part) repertoire\, so if you don’t have muc
h experience\, you\nare expected to practice the pieces and try to improve
. It’s like playing\nfootball: our club sets no prerequisites\, but we do
occasionally play a match\,\nso it helps if the team wants to score. If I
join\, do I have to block the A12\nhighway? No. As an action choir\, we pa
rticipate in all kinds of protests\,\ndemonstrations\, and other events. F
rom singing during the Climate Wake\n(klimaatwake-amsterdam.nl [http://kli
maatwake-amsterdam.nl/]) to Extinction\nRebellion actions where risk of ar
rest is possible. It is ALWAYS your own choice\nwhat you do or do not part
icipate in. For every action\, we communicate clearly\nin advance whether
you might face any risks. That being said: if activism isn’t\nyour thing a
	t all\, a different choir might be a better fit. If you’re unsure\,\nyou a
re very welcome to come drop by\, get a feel for the atmosphere\, and see
if\nthe Climate Choir is right for you! Can I join if I don’t live in Amst
erdam?\nYes\, but do check klimaatkoren.nl [http://klimaatkoren.nl/] to se
e if there is a\nclimate choir in your area. Currently\, there are already
over ten climate choirs\nnationwide\, and more are joining all the time.
I have another question... Email\nyour question to amsterdam@klimaatkoren.
