DESCRIPTION:What: rehearsal of the Amsterdam Climate Choir When: March 9\,
	2027 Time: walk-in\n19:00 | start at 19:30 | end 21:00 Where: at the Buurt
boot on the Workship Sign\nup: via amsterdam@klimaatkoren.nl [amsterdam@kl
imaatkoren.nl] (or just drop by!)\nEntry: voluntary donation (for the cond
uctor) or free\n\n\nABOUT THE CLIMATE CHOIR\n\nStarting in January\, Clima
te Choir Amsterdam organises monthly rehearsals. We\npractice protest song
s that we sing during climate actions and other events.\nMusic offers us c
omfort. It is a creative outlet for frustrations. It is a way\nto create s
omething beautiful as a group\, driven by our desire to make the world\na
better and more beautiful place. Led by conductor Blue Dog (Matthias Konec
ny)\,\nyou will learn protest songs used to inspire people to do better fo
r Mother\nEarth. We are part of a national network of choirs (klimaatkoren
	.nl\n[http://klimaatkoren.nl/]).\n\n\nFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS\n\nDo I n
eed to read sheet music to join? No. Our choir has no entry requirements.\
nAnyone who loves singing and Mother Earth is welcome. Sheet music is prov
ided\,\nbut we also work with audio files so you can practice songs by ear
	. We do sing\npolyphonic (multi-part) repertoire\, so if you don’t have mu
ch experience\, you\nare expected to practice the pieces and try to improv
	e. It’s like playing\nfootball: our club sets no prerequisites\, but we do
occasionally play a match\,\nso it helps if the team wants to score. If I
join\, do I have to block the A12\nhighway? No. As an action choir\, we p
articipate in all kinds of protests\,\ndemonstrations\, and other events.
From singing during the Climate Wake\n(klimaatwake-amsterdam.nl [http://kl
imaatwake-amsterdam.nl/]) to Extinction\nRebellion actions where risk of a
rrest is possible. It is ALWAYS your own choice\nwhat you do or do not par
ticipate in. For every action\, we communicate clearly\nin advance whether
you might face any risks. That being said: if activism isn’t\nyour thing
at all\, a different choir might be a better fit. If you’re unsure\,\nyou
are very welcome to come drop by\, get a feel for the atmosphere\, and see
if\nthe Climate Choir is right for you! Can I join if I don’t live in Ams
	terdam?\nYes\, but do check klimaatkoren.nl [http://klimaatkoren.nl/] to s
ee if there is a\nclimate choir in your area. Currently\, there are alread
y over ten climate choirs\nnationwide\, and more are joining all the time.
