m January onwards\, Klimaatkoor Amsterdam organises monthly rehearsals. We
\npractise protest songs that we sing during climate actions and other eve
nts.\nMusic comforts us. It is a creative outlet for frustrations. It is a
way to\ncreate something beautiful together\, driven by our desire to mak
e the world\nbetter and more beautiful. Under the guidance of conductor Bl
ue Dog (Matthias\nKonecny)\, you learn protest songs with which we inspire
people to do better for\nMother Earth. We are part of a national network
of choirs (klimaatkoren.nl\n[http://klimaatkoren.nl/]).\n\n\nFREQUENTLY AS
KED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS\n\nDo I need to be able to read sheet music to j
oin? No. Our choir has no “entry\nlevel”. Everyone who loves singing and l
oves Mother Earth is welcome. There is\nsheet music\, but we also work wit
h audio files so you can learn songs by ear. We\ndo sing in multiple parts
\, so if you do not have much experience\, you are\nexpected to practise y
our parts and try to improve. It is like football: our\nclub does not set
requirements\, but we do sometimes play a match\, and then it\nhelps if th
e team wants to score. If I sing along\, do I have to go onto the A12?\nNo
. As an action choir\, we take part in all kinds of protests\, demonstrati
ons\nand other events. From singing during the Climate Vigil\n(klimaatwake
-amsterdam.nl [http://klimaatwake-amsterdam.nl/]) to Extinction\nRebellion
actions where it is possible that you may be arrested. It is ALWAYS\nyour
own choice what you do or do not take part in. For every action\, we clea
rly\ncommunicate beforehand whether you could face risks. That said: if yo
u are not\ninto activism at all\, another choir might be a better choice.
