SUMMARY:Pinky EP Listening Party ft. Luka Schuurman and Band Photo
DTSTAMP:20261016T220148Z
DTSTART:20261104T190000Z
DESCRIPTION:Doors: 20.00. This event is free.\n\nOn November 4th\, Purple P
inky (AKA Jolan Lammertink) releases his second solo\nEP. Since the new ma
terial doesn’t exactly lend itself to a live performance\,\nhe’s decided t
o celebrate with a small listening party at the wonderful De\nNieuwe Anita
\, joined by local musical talents Luka Schuurman and Band Photo.\nThese t
hree wildly different acts share a love for ambient sounds\, promising an\
natmospheric evening of drinks and music.\n\nPurple Pinky\nFollowing his 2
	024 debut EP\, Purple Pink\n[https://open.spotify.com/album/6VpOyYJZR7a3KH
	tqXfgxvQ?si=-7TKXtY1Smmn5X-QhJdqNw&nd=1&dlsi=90afefc77b264069]y\nreturns w
ith four new songs in the vein of ‘proggy lo-fi pop’. Drawing\ninspiration
partly from early-’80s new wave\, the tracks feature hypnotic guitar\nrhy
thms\, echoing synths\, layered vocal harmonies and reverberant digital dr
um\nsounds. While recording most of the instruments himself\, Jolan invite
d a mix of\nold and new musical friends to contribute backing vocals\, bas
s\, guitar and drums\n— with Japanese artist Kondo Kohei contributing the
painting on the EP cover.\n\nBand Photo\nBand Photo is James McClure (Trum
pet) Jack Beattie (Sampler)\, and Jacob\nMaskell-Key (Drums). Their perfor
mances unfold within a living echo chamber\,\nsculpting ghostly atmosphere
s and searing drones out of themselves. In\ndeliberate opposition to the h
yper-sped consumption of contemporary media\, Band\nPhoto focuses on vulne
	rability\, openness\, and deep listening\, creating an\nenvironment that i
nvites introspection and sustained attention. On November 4th\,\nthey’ll s
hare unreleased material that builds on their debut release\, Jessica\nAlb
	um [https://sundriedunderstandings.bandcamp.com/album/jessica-album]\n(Sun
	dried Understanding Records).
