DESCRIPTION:Cripping Warmoesstraat is an inquiry into crip* embodiment in A
msterdam through\nherbalist practices and solidarity networks. Working wit
	h the seasonality and\ncartography of plants\, fungi\, and bacteria that p
ersist in the city\, they aim to\ncreate a space where being crip* can coe
xist with healing. Through foraging\,\ncooking\, fermenting\, tasting\, an
d smelling\, they will engage the immediate\nbindings between bodies and e
nvironments—playing with the contradictions in what\nit means to be “healt
	hy.”\n\nAt W139\, they will build a makeshift lab-kitchen\, (role)play wit
	h herbalist\ntraditions\, trickster histories\, and para-sitic relations.
Situated in the\ngritty consumerism of Warmoesstraat\, we explore healing
as messy\, collective\,\nand ongoing by inviting publics\, plants\, and mi
croorganisms into shared\nprocesses of critical play. In the lab-kitchen a
t W139\, they will question and\ntwist the notion of healing through share
d practices\, paying homage to the\nwitches that were put on trial at the
Dam square\, and search for new entry\npoints into healing through shared
practices.\n\nIlja Schamlé and Pırıltı Onukar met during their studies at
the Artistic\nResearch masters programme at the University of Amsterdam. A
s two people living\nwith metabolic and autoimmune chronic conditions\, th
ey move through the city\nattentive to the entangled metabolics of health\
, food\, and urban life itself.\n\nPırıltı Onukar has been exploring the t
hemes of belonging and community through\nexperiential process-based and o
	ften situated multidisciplinary work\, film\,\nparticipatory performances\
, translation\, farming and foraging. She is currently\nfocusing most of h
er attention on the artist-run collective GROND Bajesdorp.\n\nIlja Schamlé
is an artist and writer with an amateur herbal and social medicine\npract
ice\, yet always stuck on when these things tip over from something\nliber
atory into something lonely\, esoteric and de-politicised. She is an all\n
round janitor of a community and residency space called Massia.
