DESCRIPTION:On 19 July 2026 from 18:00 to 20:00\, Framer Framed hosts the o
pening celebration\nof Moving Love\, a film project and presentation by Im
pact Makers in\ncollaboration with LIMBO and Skill School\, for and by que
er refugees. The film\nproject and presentation aims to widen the focus of
queer stories\, which often\ncentre on fear and precarity\, by sharing ac
counts of hope in which love\nsupersedes fear of consequence.\n\nIn the ma
king of Moving Love\, Impact Makers brought together fifteen queer\nrefuge
es from around the world for a series of workshops designed to familiarise
\nparticipants with various aspects of film-making. Film functions as an e
ffective\nmeans to convey dozens of messages\, which can otherwise be diff
icult to\nencapsulate in words. Following the film-making workshops\, ten
	participants\ncreated a short cinematic two-piece: ten unique\, authentic
works that range from\npowerful political statements to intimate love lett
ers\, each exploring identity\nand the strength to keep going.\n\nBy facil
itating the creation of their own pieces\, Impact Makers sought to place\n
control over the creative process in the hands of participants\, allowing
them to\nreclaim the agency that they have so often been denied. Around th
e world\, queer\nrights are increasingly under pressure with the rise of f
ascism. In 61\ncountries\, being gay is still criminalised\, and in 7\, it
is punishable by death.\nTo counter a climate of fear and hostility\, Mov
ing Love fulfils a call for\nstories rooted in hope\, connection and love.
