DESCRIPTION:You are warmly invited to the opening and book launch of Beauti
ful Creatures on\nJuly 8\, from 17:00 to 21:00.The solo exhibition by Amst
erdam-based photographer\nThe Sinful Son (Peter van der Wal) will be on vi
ew at Melkweg Expo until 20\nSeptember.\n\nVisibility Is Resistance\nWith
his iconic Polaroid Big Shot and vintage flashcubes\, Van der Wal has\ncap
tured hundreds of intimate moments across Amsterdam\, Berlin\, London and\
nbeyond. DJs\, dancers\, lovers\, strangers\, all part of the same ritual.
What began\nwith a simple question evolved into a striking portrait serie
s and a colourful\ncelebration of the international queer community. A lov
e letter to freedom\,\nhedonism\, diversity\, chosen families and the righ
t to be seen.\n\nIn the current climate\, documenting and archiving queer
lives is an act of\nresistance. It is a refusal to disappear\, and a clear
statement that this\ncommunity has always been here and will continue to
exist.\n\nThe Photobook \nThe book brings together more than 350 unique Po
laroids from The Sinful Son’s\ncollection\, complemented by texts by Junio
	r van Keulen\, Ridder van Kooten and\nLewis G. Burton\, which provide cont
ext for the work as well as an insight into\nThe Sinful Son’s working meth
ods. The photo book Beautiful Creatures offers a\nrare and intimate glimps
e into the queer nightlife of clubs in Amsterdam\,\nBerlin\, London and be
yond. What would normally fade into the darkness of the\nclub or be lost a
t sunrise has been brought together in a unique collector’s\nitem and exhi
bition. Pre-order now and receive your copy during the opening of\nthe exh
ibition at Melkweg Expo.\n\nThis programme is part of Club Chrome: Melkweg
	’s multidisciplinary festival for\nWorldPride 2026\, where music\, art and
activism unite. Visit the Club Chrome page\nfor more information\, update
	s and other shows.
