o save water\, grow healthy organic food and keep production\ncosts low. T
he systems are therefore built as much as possible using simple\,\neasily
sourced materials\, so that others can build them themselves as well.\n\nO
ne of the systems in the greenhouse is aquaponics\, in which fish and plan
ts\nwork together. The nitrogen-rich waste produced by the fish is convert
ed into\nnutrients for the plants. The plants\, in turn\, clean the water\
, which then flows\nback to the fish. This creates a natural cycle.\n\nThe
greenhouse also experiments with a range of other cultivation methods\, a
ll\nfocused on organic and sustainable food production in urban areas.\n\n
Grower Andrei Becca has eight years of experience growing plants\, includi
ng two\nyears working in one of the most advanced greenhouses in the Nethe
rlands. He is\ncurrently also pursuing a master’s degree at Wageningen Uni
