DESCRIPTION:During the Framer Framed Book Fair\, HumDrumPress [https://humd
	rumpress.com/]\nhosts an Open Book\, a public event which authors share\, 
	in a performative yet\naccessible manner\, the knowledge they have gathere
	d on their publication.\nParticipants are then able to access\, interact\,
	 add to\, comment and critique\,\nand feel invited into the collaborative 
	publication process.\n\nFor this Open Book\, artist Mirjam Linschooten and
	 researcher Skye Maule-O’Brien\nshare their upcoming publication\, Breath 
	& Breeze: Tongueless Whispers of the\nWind. This project looks at the wind
	\, wind technology\, and the Dutch colonial\nfootprint in Barbados and Cur
	açao. Visitors of the book fair are invited to\ncritically question the hi
	storical and cultural significance of wind in the\nNetherlands and the Car

	4990].\n\nAbout\n\nMirjam Linschooten is a Dutch visual artist based in Am
	sterdam. Her\nmultidisciplinary practice spans publication\, film\, instal
	lation\, photography\,\ncollage\, and writing. Often working collaborative
	ly\, she explores the visible\nand hidden legacies of colonial histories. 
	By questioning how memory and history\nare shaped\, her work offers altern
	ative viewpoints\, counter-narratives\, and\nspace for critical reflection
	. Her work has been exhibited internationally at\ninstitutions including C
	BK Zuidoost (Amsterdam)\, Rijksmuseum van Oudheden\n(Leiden)\, De Appel (A
	msterdam)\, Stroom Den Haag\, Cemeti Institute for Art and\nSociety (Yogya
	karta)\, and the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto). She holds an MA\nfrom t
	he Dutch Art Institute and a BFA from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy.\n\nSkye
	 Maule-O’Brien is an educator and artistic researcher working between\nMon
	treal\, Barbados\, and Rotterdam. Her collaborative practice combines theo
	ry\,\nnarrative\, and sensory methods using the framework of intimate peda
	gogy\; a\ntheory and method she developed that centers intimacy and vulner
	ability in\ntransformative knowledge production. She holds a PhD in Educat
	ion from York\nUniversity (Toronto) with an exchange at the University of 
	the West Indies\n(Barbados)\, a Master’s in Educational Studies and a BFA 
	in Art History with a\nminor in Adult Education from Concordia University 
	(Montreal).She is a principal\nlecturer in the Theory Programme at Willem
