	nd the legacy of slavery in health and\nwell-being. Alana is part of the K
	MK consortium conducting research into the\ncolonial history of the Royal 
	Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences\, and in\nApril 2026\, an interna
	tional consortium led by Alana was awarded a €3.3 million\ngrant from the 
	NWA to investigate the legacy of the Dutch colonial history of\nslavery.\n
